Randolph County Fire Board

The mission of the Randolph County Fire Board is to safeguard the lives and property of citizens of, and visitors to, Randolph County, West Virginia. Our personnel are committed to maintaining a responsible approach to fire and hazard prevention, community education, and related services. Our values include Integrity, Respect, and Teamwork. Randolph County Countywide Fire Fee Ordinance

Residential

Each residential building within Randolph County (outside of the Elkins Fire Department’s first due response area) is assessed an annual fee of $72.

A residential building is defined as “any structure which is used or intended by the nature of its construction to be used by persons for living and sleeping quarters, including modulars and mobile homes but shall not include hotels, motels, or other buildings intended primarily for transient lodging.”

Please note that barns, garages, seasonal and recreational houses, outbuildings, etc. are exempt from this fee.

Commercial

Each commercial building within Randolph County (outside of the Elkins Fire Department’s first due response area) is assessed an annual fee based on the square footage of the building ($100 to $500).

Funds collected are distributed directly to our local fire departments to support fire control operations.
